Julien Forbat is a postdoctoral scholar at the Institute of Environmental Sciences at the University of Geneva. After graduating in political science and Asian studies, he wrote an interdisciplinary PhD thesis on environmental health public policies in Europe, and more specifically in Switzerland, Germany and Belgium. His work deals with the conceptual relationship between environmental health and sustainable development. He is also interested in the reasons explaining successes and failures in the implementation of National Environmental Health Action Plans and National Strategies for Sustainable Development in Europe. Julien Forbat will pursue his postdoctoral research in 2015 at the University of California, Irvine. His focus will be the links between interdisciplinarity, transdisciplinarity and intersectoriality in the management of sustainable development and environmental health projects at the local and regional levels.
