All right. Now, we are on our final step and our framework corporate responsibility.
To wrap up your work,
you need to find some ways to integrate Doublestar's efforts
in tire waste alleviation into its corporate strategy.
And now that Doublestar is playing a bigger role on the world stage,
the company needs to think about ways that can make an impact for good in society.
So for example, currently
nearly 300 million scrap tires are generated globally each year.
That's a ton of rubber going to waste.
To get into this assignment, first,
you need to think about some of the theories of
moral reasoning that you learned about in the ethics course.
You need to look at each of these,
and make a case for, in the first place,
why should Doublestar even be involved in alleviating tire waste?
Next, you look at the steps of the ethical decision making process to help Doublestar
decide if and why it should become involved in alleviating tire waste.
Finally, you need to articulate how
this side business actually becomes a part of their core business,
as the company focuses on more than just its financial profits.
In the triple bottom line framework,
you need to think about,
how can a company do all three of these things?
Improve their financial position,
benefit people and families and societies,
and also benefit the environment.
And in my opinion, Doublestar is actually positioned
well to do all three of these things at the same time.
So, in your assignment, you need think about how can they actually do this,
how could they execute on this,
how can they do this effectively?
Good luck wrapping up your assignment.
I have no doubt that you can come up with
some really compelling ideas for Doublestar, and in general,
I hope this project gives you some skills and knowledge to be more effective
working in any kind of global environment after looking at how Doublestar does it.
