The second module is about performance management or how we track and
coach others to be more effective.
The third module is about conflict management, or how to resolve your own and
others disagreements.
And then finally, the fourth module we'll finish the course by discussing leading
change in organizations.
>> You'll see that each module in the course includes some background readings,
a conceptual video, a supplemental video that will allow you to drill deeper into
specific related topics, and finally, a case study activity.
The case study activities each provide you an opportunity to practice what you learn
from the readings and the videos.
These activities allow you engage in common situations that you will encounter
frequently as leaders, providing a chance to practice what you have learned and
to assess your skills at handling these situations.
>> The case study activities are critical to learning.
The more seriously you take your participation in these activities,
the more you'll learn.
To do the case study activities, you'll need to draw in friends and
colleagues to participate with you.
You'll learn more if you work with different people for
each case study activity.
You're not going to lead one person, but many.
Variety is your friend here.
>> If you wish to purchase a package of the supplemental readings for all eight
modules of the Everyday Leadership course, you should visit the LAD online bookstore.
You can also visit the LAD online bookstore to purchase a two-page
summary of the contents of each of the eight modules
of the Everyday Leadership courses written by Professor Greg Northcraft.
>> Each module is going to provide practice questions.
They're there to help you assess whether you've learned what you need to know
from the module.
There are also short multiple choice quizzes, and
then brief peer evaluated writing assignments.
These are opportunities to check your understanding and
to consolidate what you've learned in the course.
You don't need to be in a formal leadership position within
an organization to lead other people.
You just need to know the foundations of leaderships and
be able to apply them in your interactions with other people.
If you can engage others to work together to achieve collective goals,
you're a leader.
This course is going to help you do so.
