Welcome to module one, How to Create a Culture of Coaching and Accountability.
In this first module, we're going to be talking about how to establish a culture
of coaching and accountability within an organization, if you were with us for
the last course in this specialization.
Setting Expectations and
Addressing Performance Issues, you'll recall that we really talked about those
key elements that speak to the coaching process that helps us drive performance.
And helps us build a culture of accountability.
We talked about mission and purpose.
We talked about vision, and we talked about setting leadership expectations for
those norms for how we're going to interact with one another,
both from the behavior and a values perspective.
We also discussed how to identify key performance indicators for
each role within an organization.
And how to use coaching algebra to help people,
who are experiencing mind set or skill set performance gaps
that may be preventing them from reaching their full potential in their role.
I really want you to keep all these elements in mind
as we begin to talk about establishing an effective coaching practice.
Because, here's the thing,
practice is what you do everyday to really implement this process.
And all of its associated elements we talked about in the previous course.
And what I found through my experience is that some managers tend to be
really good at the process.
They come up with the structure and figure out how to implement it.
Whereas other managers are not as good at the process, but
they're excellent at developing people and establishing a solid practice.
I've found it's actually quite rare that individual managers are great at all
of these elements.
And the challenge with that is that we're not consistent.
So a manager may spend more time with certain employees than others.
They may only choose to coach people who aren't doing well,
completely neglecting the high performers.
And that's really not what we want.
So in this module, the point is to really help you not only understand your process.
But to establish an effective practice so
that you're consistent with all of your employees.
I'm so glad that you've signed up and joined us again, so let's go ahead and
get started to get you on your way to create a great coaching practice.
And a culture of accountability in your organization.
