Hi. Let me tell you a little bit
about this next unit.
It's called entrustment.
We'll talk in a few minutes about what entrustment means, and
what responsibility means.
But I want to talk to you about the flow of the units and
just a sense of what we're going to be doing during this time period.
The first thing we're going to do is we're going to talk about what entrustment means
and try to get to a working definition and shared understanding of entrustment.
Then we're going to hear from some of our learners about how they felt like
they were entrusted well, and how it could have been improved.
All of this is building to what are some of the factors that affect entrustment in
our clinical setting.
After that, we're then going to watch some videos of entrustment and get a sense of
what could be done better with each of these videos and what was done well in
terms of how the faculty or the resident entrusted the learner in that setting.
And then at the end we're going to come up with a model and a plan for
how we're are going to entrust people in our own setting.
Remember that each of these segments is followed by some homework with some
deliberate practice to think about how you can get better.
All right. Let's get started.
