[MUSIC] Hello. Welcome to our introduction to the course, English for Business Literacy. I hope you are all doing well. In this video, you will learn what the learning objectives of this course are and how the content and assessment are structured. Right, let's take a look at the course learning objectives first. The goal of this course is to provide you with the basic business literacy skills needed to complete the rest of the Business English for Non-Native Speakers Specialization. By the end of this course, you should be able to describe things and events in the context of Business English, make requests in the context of Business English, support arguments in the context of Business English. Use appropriate tone and style of language according to the context. Use basic Business English vocabulary and conduct an audience analysis. Okay, got that? So how will you learn all of this? And how will you learn both business communication skills and English language skills? Well, we designed this course in a way we think will be helpful and enjoyable for you. The course is broken down into six modules, including this introduction module and a farewell module. The four main modules are separated into two lessons. One, focusing on content and the other focusing on language learning. The content lessons begin with learning about communication basics. This will help you get through the rest of the specialization. We then move on to styles of business English, then audience and purpose analysis, and finally analyzing business cases. The language lessons include practice in vocabulary, challenging grammar, and business role plays. This is where you will build your English proficiency skills to be used later in courses, and finally, the real world. You'll be able to monitor your progress throughout this course through discussion form activities, quizzes and assessed and non-assessed peer review tasks. Did you get all of that? If not, you can rewatch this video to review what you may have missed, or you can read the objectives and outcomes for this course in each lesson. We're really excited to be working with all of you throughout this course and specialization. We can't wait to get started, so let's go ahead. Best of luck and see you all soon. [MUSIC]
