Hi. My name is Tiffany Cannis. I'm Vice President of Strategy and Operations at Global Algae Innovations. Today we'll be discussing algae solutions for global dilemmas. We were founded in December 2013 by Dave Hazlebeck. Our mission is to change the world through technology, service, and compassion. We are considered a leader in algal technology development for low cost production. We have radical advancements throughout the entire algae production process, and we now have a technology suite that is ready for commercial production. Our international community is facing unprecedented challenges that require innovative solutions. Food. Increased population and higher standards of living will mean double the protein demand. Deforestation. We lose 120,000 acres per day through deforestation and this accounts for 15 percent of greenhouse gas emissions. Water. Our water quality and supply are being threatened by agricultural runoff, which is the leading cause of global water impairment. Ocean. There is such a higher demand on our oceans today to produce aquaculture. Poverty. Rural development and jobs are needed all around the world. Oil. Are resources as we know, are limited and this is causing great complex among nations. Climate change. We need more energy now than ever and food for 10 billion people with higher standard of living will mean even higher emissions. So what's the solution? Algae is the solution. It is the solution that we need today because algae produces food and oil at the same time. Algae can be cultivated on non-arable land. Algae can also be cultivated with poor water quality. All algae farms generate a full spectrum of high-quality rural jobs. You can grow 50 times more protein per acre with algae. You can grow 30 times more protein per drop of water. You can capture and use CO2 from the off-gas, and there's unparalleled productivity increase that would lift entire regions out of poverty. Algae truly is today solution This chart shows our algae production process. You will see at the top, those are our low-cost production technologies in the green. In the blue, you will see our lipid products, and in the salmon color our protein meal products. We have been focusing heavily on commodities and lowering the cost of commodities because that is the only way to affect global change. Global Algae has been an operation for five years and we operate both in California and Hawaii. This image is of our farm on the island of Hawaii that we operate. We currently have 18 employees. This facility on the island of Kauai, the Kauai Algae Farm is 33 acres, which includes eight weeded acres and the largest open pond raceway is 3.2 acres. We are very proud of our innovative technology. We now have a suite of low-cost algae production technology that is ready to go to commercial scale, and we have innovation throughout the entire process. So CO2 supply, innovative raceway designs, and our new Zobi harvester, which gives 100 percent harvest efficiency. We are currently in a position we're ready to scale up. We are working right now on the design for 150 acre pilot facility, and we look forward to moving into the next step in about three years into a commercial facility that is about 1 to 2,000 acres. We have 37 advances that have been demonstrated in the facility on the island of Kauai, and we've a 100 more advances that are currently in the pipeline. We're also very proud of Global Algae, that we have a charitable arm to our company. It's called Stepping Forward International. It's a non-profit organization that we have used to be able to educate the students on the island of Kauai in terms of the importance of algae and also to inspire them and excite them about science. We're very proud that the Discovery Network partnered with us to do a video that has 18.9 million views, and it's all about algae and why algae is so important for the world. So you might ask, well what's next? What's next for a company like Global Algae Innovations? Well, we have a three-year plan that includes developing algae solutions for global dilemmas, scaling up production, as I mentioned with a 150 acre pilot facility, the design is almost completed and we expect to break ground in 2020. Then our algal commodity productions, we're focusing on both food and feed and oil for polymers and for fuel. Our vision is really to harness the unparalleled productivity of algae and to provide food and feed and fuel for the world, dramatically improving the environment, economy, and of course, the quality of life for all people. So thank you so much for taking a moment today to learn more about Global Algae Innovations. We look forward to getting to share with you even more over the next three years.
