Hi everyone. My name is Angela Nardozi. >> And I'm Brandon Burrows. >> And we are your TA's for the Aboriginal Worldviews and Education class Dr. Jean-paul Restoule. And today we wanted to speak to you about some of the things that are coming up in the forums and, you know, some of our thoughts on the course and what to do afterwards and a little bit about ourselves. So Brandon, why don't you go ahead first? >> Okay just a little background about myself. I'm from the GTA area. I grew up in a city called Burlington which is pretty much a larger suburb of Toronto. And yeah, academic background, I did my undergrad at the University of Waterloo, in English Rhetoric and Professional Writing which was very enjoyable. And then I went off to the University of Ottawa where I got a Master's in Communication and my thesis probably, or, or generally looked at a show called Moccasin Flats which, which I'll plug right now, is a is a very ground-breaking TV show that you can order the seasons of, and the DVDs of, off www.bigsoul.net. So, everybody go on to that website afterwards and get yourself a copy, because it's a really, really great, really great show. And yeah, so then I got in for my Ph.D. At the University of Toronto at OISE and this is my first year. Last semester I took a course in Indigenous Methodologies and this semester besides TA'ing this course, I"m taking course in Aboriginal World Views. I'm really, really enjoying reading some of the posts for the meaningful place, places that people have talked about, and also more recently for the ethnographic assignment. Some of the submissions have been really thought-provoking and funny. So yeah Angela tell us a little about yourself. >> Okay. So my name is Angela Nardozi. My family very recently immigrated to Canada. So, my Dad was born in Italy and my mother was born here but her parents weren't. And yes. So we, the, my, my ancestors, my family, they settled in Toronto and, Canada, Ontario, Canada. And I live in Markham which also a suburb of Toronto. I went to Catholic school. I did my undergrad at McMaster University in Hamilton, which I loved. In the arts and science program there, which is an undergrad Liberal Arts program. I did my B.Ed. At OISE. That's the Bachelor of Education. Then I did my Masters of Arts at OISE. And now I'm doing the Ph.D. At OISE. It's just this building that once you get in it's like you just can't get out. And I've enjoyed all of the experiences quite a lot so far. And now I'm working with Jean-Paul on the Deepening Knowledge Project which hopefully I'll talk a little bit about later. But I, I want to really, let's get right to the threads. I mean, I'm so excited. I think, the night before, you know, or the night that we were releasing the course, I kind of just sat by the threads waiting for the first comment to come in. And I think I was like the second person to comment, so you can verify that story. But it was really, really exciting. And, you know, I just love the as Brendan was saying, all the responses that people are giving. But also like, some of the cool, creative projects that I'm seeing coming out of this. So for instance, the, the thread history, still an insult. So if, if you haven't been there yet, I really, you know, go there because we're hoping to collect, and some people are already posting some really insulting. Some would even say racist plaques and or, you know, monuments at historical sites you know, which, which to say, you know, this or that European place discovered or civilized except for, you can see in the, the thread. It's called History Still An Insult. So, if you have a picture or you have a story, add it there. I just think it's a great way to you know hear about these stories from around
