I'm really glad I chose to invest time in taking this course. It gave me a much better understanding of the history of incarceration in our country, what goes on in the criminal justice system, and how our society is affected by mass incarceration. When I started the course, my hope was to be more educated on this topic, but I didn't think there was anything I could do to alleviate the problem. This course helped me realize that by being involved in helping the marginalized and the vulnerable in our communities, we are all doing our part to help end mass incarceration. I highly recommend it.

A very good course. I had no idea before taking it about the post civil war state of convict semi-slavery across the south through the 1920s. A free society does always need watch out for that sort of thing.
