Prof. Hubbard’s research uses a variety of datasets to constrain fault geometries in 3D, including satellite imagery, seismicity, and subsurface imaging. She received her BS from Caltech in 2005 and her PhD from Harvard University in 2011, where she worked on active faults in Sichuan Province, China and Southern California. She joined the faculty at NTU in 2012, where she plans to develop regional 3D fault models for parts of Southeast Asia, including fault systems in the Himalaya, Myanmar, Bangladesh, and Sumatra. She also works on developing hands-on labs and exciting demos to communicate science to the public.
