Stephanie Pau

Associate Educator, Interpretation & Research

Bio

Stephanie Pau is a lifelong museophile with nearly fifteen years experience working in museum education. As Associate Educator, Interpretation & Research at The Museum of Modern Art in New York, she works cross-departmentally on analog and digital interpretive resources including in-gallery games, learning spaces, multimedia, and digital and mobile resources including MoMA Learning and the recently launched MoMA Audio+ app. Prior to MoMA, she spent nearly a decade at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA), where she produced, scripted and launched the museum's award-winning podcast series; wrote and co-produced Making Sense of Modern Art Mobile; conducted artist interviews; developed in-gallery learning spaces and curated exhibitions in the Koret Visitor Education Center. She has also worked at the California Academy of Sciences in Botany and on special projects at the Hearst Museum of Anthropology. Before museums, she worked as an archaeologist, participating in field excavations, surveys, laboratory research and reporting for projects across California, Baja California, and Hawai’i. Stephanie holds a B.A. in Anthropology, Archaeology emphasis at the University of California at Berkeley, followed by graduate work in the M.A. in Museum Studies program at San Francisco State University.
