Seiji Isotani

Associate Professor in Computer Science


<p>Educator, reseacher and entrepreneur in the field of Computers in Education. Seiji Isotani has B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Computer Science from the University of São Paulo, Brazil, and a Ph.D. in Information Engineering from Osaka University, Japan. Before becoming a Professor at the University of São Paulo, he also worked as a Research fellow&nbsp;at Carnegie Mellon University, USA from 2009 to 2011. He has experience in the areas of Computer Science and educational technology, with emphasis on collaborative systems (CSCL) and intelligent educational systems (ITS). Prof. Seiji is the director of the Applied Computing in Education Laboratory (CAEd) and co-founder of two startups, one in the area of ​​educational technologies (MeuTutor) and another in the area of ​​semantic technologies (Good House). Both were awarded in different opportunities for the production and deployment of technological innovations in the sector. He research interest includes: intelligent tutoring systems, CSCL (collaborative learning), ontologies, open linked data, semantic web and educational data mining.</p>
