Bio

Albert Wu is a practicing internist and Professor of Health Policy & Management and Medicine at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, director of the Center for Health Service and Outcomes Research, and PhD Program in health services research. He has studied patient safety since 1988, and has published over 350 papers including “Medical error: the second victim” and the Joint Commission book “The Value of Close Calls in Improving Patient Safety.” He was a member of the IOM committee on preventing medication errors, Senior Adviser for Patient Safety to WHO, and is a member of the National Quality Forum Patient Safety Standing Committee.
